WHAT IS HYROX?

About the Race

HYROX is a unique fitness competition that combines running and functional workout stations, challenging participants with a blend of endurance and strength. The race format involves an alternating sequence of a 1km run followed by a functional workout station, repeated eight times. Hosted indoors in expansive exhibition halls, HYROX delivers an electrifying atmosphere where spectators can cheer you on from start to finish.

The Divisions

HYROX is truly a race for all fitness levels, designed to challenge both elite athletes and everyday fitness enthusiasts alike. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or new to fitness racing, HYROX offers a variety of divisions to suit your goals, abilities, and training preferences.

If you’re ready to push yourself to the limit, you can take on HYROX individually by competing in the Open or Pro categories. The Open division is perfect for those looking to test their fitness and endurance in a supportive yet competitive environment, while the Pro division is tailored for those seeking to take on heavier weights and more intense challenges, pushing performance to the next level.

Prefer to share the experience? The Doubles division allows you to race alongside a partner, making the event both challenging and fun, as you split the workout stations between the two of you. This is a great option for couples, training partners, or friends looking to conquer HYROX as a team.

For those who thrive on teamwork, the Team Relay category is an ideal choice. In this format, the race is split across four teammates, with each person taking on two workout stations and two running segments. This category encourages collaboration and strategy, making it a perfect fit for gyms, sports teams, or groups of friends wanting to experience HYROX together.

Whatever your fitness background, HYROX offers a supportive, community-driven atmosphere where athletes of all levels can experience the thrill of competition. The Race Format

The HYROX race consists of eight workout stations, with a 1km run before each station. Here’s the full breakdown of the movements you’ll face on race day:

  • 50m Sled Pull
  • 80m Burpee Broad Jumps
  • 1000m Rowing
  • 200m Farmers Carry
  • 100 Sandbag Lunges

Joined LF14 back in March after spending the past few years trying other gyms in the area. Always in other gyms you feel the clicks and feel like a outsider going in. James has LF14 completey different from day 1 your part of the family everyone encouraging and motivating you to push on. And the atmosphere is next level where else can you be pushed to your limits and have a propa laugh doing it. Only regret is that I didn't join sooner

Friendly Fitness CommunityI followed LiveFIT14 on social media for a while and always had an interest in joining but initially kept putting it off as didn’t think I was fit enough or I wanted to loose a bit more weight first.I then met a member of the LiveFit community who couldn’t stop talking about it and encouraged me to join and said that the classes are really accommodating for anyone of all different ages, weights, abilities. And it really is.The plans they have will teach you discipline over motivation, it’s easy to find excuses but disciple takes self control and that self discipline will show in other areas of your life too. The motivation comes from the community the moment I walked through the doors the first day I didn’t know anyone but everyone was welcoming and everyone encourages and motivates you to keep going.The food plans have so much variety including fakeaway recipes and a roast dinner on a Sunday and recipes you may have thought you may not like but cooking or preparing them in a different way changes everythingHighly recommend LiveFit to anyone

I joined Livefit 14 over 5 years ago like everyone who is getting back into exercising or starting for the first time I was very apprehensive and nervous. Thinking I would be judged on my size and that I wouldn’t be able to do the moves or keep up. I had joined a few gyms prior and didn’t last as I felt really uncomfortable. But joining Livefit 14 is the best thing I’ve done I’m over 3 1/2 stone lighter, there was no judgement everyone so welcoming. My mental health is so much better and the variety of classes means you never get board. You’re encouraged to push yourself and the whole team are so encouraging. The coaches are fab and it’s such a friendly place to be.I’ve recently completed the FA8 plan as due to menopause I had started to see weight increase. This plan was amazing real food and portions it wasn’t like a diet. Pizza on a Friday night what’s not to like. I dropped around 17 lbs and it give me the push I needed to get back on track. James puts a lot of time and effort bringing the right plans that are sustainable, as well as the variety of sessions.The whole team are like family always supporting each other. I really can’t imagine training anywhere else. I certainly couldn’t have got to where I am mentally and physically without James support and help over the years.

I started Livefit14 in January 2022 feeling a little bit lost and unhappy in myself. Having 2 young children, I had neglected myself a little, and with my youngest starting nursery, I finally had time to do something for me.I have never looked back, I love the variety of workouts and every class is different. I am fitter, healthier, happier and more confident than I have been in such a long time, losing 4 and a half stone and gaining friends for life ❤️The FA8 plan is the best nutrition plan I have ever followed. Combined with the Livefit14 workouts, I lost 2 stone in only 8 weeks. It has totally changed my mindset with regards to nutrition and excercise. I have learned how to live a balanced, healthy lifestyle - losing another stone since the plan ending.James and the coaches are all amazing and everyone is so welcoming. I really couldn't recommend Livefit14 enough!

Fantastic place to get into shape. Covers all aspects of training such as HIIT, strength and conditioning and much more. Been there just over a year now and absolutely love the place. The main man James Paterson is an outstanding PT and has a team of coaches alongside side him who are also excellent. Great set up and great team who provide constant support and motivation both inside and outside of the gym. Banter is of the highest level as well. 👍👌💪👏

Highly recommend!You will definitely not be disappointed… Ive lost nearly 6 stone now and wouldn’t have been able to do it , without all the amazing coaches and sessions led by James Paterson. I can honestly say I always look forward to sessions! This place makes me love working out … not like any other gym community or facility! Fantastic workout’s surrounded by fantastic people x
